How do I get started in the Film Industry?
To qualify for most departments at I.A.T.S.E Local 891 applicants are required to have previous film experience. There are many courses and programs offered at local colleges and Institutes that can be applied to the film industry. This experience can otherwise be gained through work on independent films and commercials. For listings of current productions filming in British Columbia you can visit the BC Film Commissions website at www.bcfilmcommission.com
How do I apply to Local 891?
Applications are available in the office and also can be printed from the Applications section of our website. We only accept completed application forms including a $75.00 processing fee. The fee can be paid by Visa, MasterCard, debit, or Cash. We do not accept cheques as a form of payment for applications although you can pay by Money order or certified cheque. Once your completed application form has been processed the department has up to four months to review the form, although the departments do meet every couple of weeks. Once it has been reviewed you will be contacted by phone or mail.

Is the membership application available on the website?
If you are already a Permittee with IATSE Local 891 and have completed your 90 days on IATSE 891 productions you may download a membership application from the Membership Application section of our website.
